Families and apple lovers attended this year’s Heritage Apple Day at Derby Reach. There were local apples to taste and children tried their hands at farm chores and old-fashioned games. Local artists painted landscapes and fiddlers from the Langley Community Music School provided toe-tapping music. Historical re-enactors brought Derby’s history to life. Noted local historian Jane Watt led apple orchard tours and Michelle Duncan, Metro Parks interpreter, led historical tours, telling tales of “Ghosts Under the Apple Trees.”
